The Schott Perfecto is the most recognisable motorcycle jacket in the world. It is a classic piece Americana. In 1913 two brothers, Irving and Jack Schott started making clothes in a basement in New York. Their leather jackets were branded with the name of Irving’s favourite cigar – the Perfecto. In 1928, Irving Schott designed and produced the first leather motorcycle jacket. Retailing for $5.50 at a Long Island Harley Davidson distributor, the Perfecto was durable and rugged. In 1954, the now cult classic “The Wild Ones” featured Marlon Brando, wearing his Schott Perfecto. Throughout the 70s and 80s Schott became synonymous with the punk rock movement.
