These cordovan shoes are a nod back to the 1930s, when there was a huge industry using horses to draw tools on farms, before tractors took over. Their hides were used in clothing manufacturing and the front quarter of the hide, which polished like glass, for high end footwear and jackets

I chose this because it is one of the few “source” leather jackets there are. Although its design will have influenced by predecessors, it represents a standalone point where the design peaked, was never bettered thereafter, and much copied since.
